Unlike Tumblr, Dreamwidth uses tags purely as organization. There is a hard cap on tags, and so cluttering tags is generally a bad idea. Please do not do this.
Tags are hierarchical. This means you can organize tags using colons (:). For example, the fanworks tag is split up into several categories, like fanart, fanfic, and other.
A breakdown of the tags is as follows:
$kaeluc and $luckae are used to denote topping order for NSFW fanworks and any fanworks that you want to tag with one or both. For SFW fanworks, tagging is not necessary and up to the poster's discretion. (See rules) If a NSFW work has switching, feel free to tag with both. If demand calls for it, I will add a switching tag as well.
!nsfw is for...NSFW material. Every post under this tag (except this one) should be locked to the community. This is here for organization purposes onlybecause everyone is horny
The discussion tag and its children tags are for posts meant to incite discussion in the comments or for essays/headcanons. Each of its children tags should hopefully be self-explanatory.
The fanworks tag and its children tags are for posts about fanwork! If you post fic, art, a playlist/fst, etc., please list it under the appropriate child tag. Once again, refer to the rules for fanwork posting guidelines.
The request tag and its children are for request. Have you been searching for that one fic or fanart you keep thinking about but can't find? Post it under that tag. Please note the request tag is not meant to request fanart or fanfic to be made.
Finally, the other tag is currently used for introduction posts and...shitposting. While shitposting is allowed, I'd prefer if it didn't become the dominant topic of conversation. If need arises, I will put other things in here.
